What is Idea Boost?

Idea Boost is the Go Business program for those who haven’t started their business yet and are in the exploration phase. Taking the leap can feel both exciting and overwhelming, with many pieces needing to fall into place.

Maybe you’re considering turning a hobby into a business idea, running a side project alongside your job, or needing a company to invoice for your gigs? In Idea Boost, you’ll gain access to a range of tools that help you find the right path and navigate uncertainties.

The program consists of digital sessions running on a semester basis, allowing you to develop your idea together with other creative people. You don’t need to have a business set up yet—that stage will come later if and when you’re ready.

You do the work – we provide knowledge, the Go Business community, and plenty of encouragement. Everything happens digitally, and you can participate no matter where in Norrbotten or Västerbotten you live.

Who is it for?

Go Business exists for those who want to make a living from their passion in northern Sweden and develop as entrepreneurs. Idea Boost is aimed at people aged 18-30 who want to move forward with their idea and are based in Norrbotten or Västerbotten.

What is included in the offer?

The Idea Boost package includes:

• A five-part workshop series
• Check-ins with a business developer
• Access to an inclusive Go Business Community, connecting you with current and former participants as well as industry partners.

What does it cost?

You invest with your own time and commitment. The program is free of charge for participants and is funded by Europeiska regionala utvecklingsfonden, Piteå Science Park, Region Norrbotten, Region Västerbotten, Sparbanken Nord, Luleå kommun, Piteå kommun, Skellefteå kommun, Boden Business Park, Övertorneå kommun, Jokkmokks kommun, Vilhelmina kommun och Kalix kommun.

Spring 2025 Program

Go Talk – March 12, 17:00-19:00

Talking about your idea is the first step to making it real. In this session, we get to know each other, reflect on our current situation and vision, and help each other define our ideas.

Go Engage – March 19, 17:00-19:00

We take a look around and ask ourselves: Who is my target audience? Who is my dream customer? Why should they be interested in my idea? What are my goals? What do I need to get started?

Go Crazy – April 2, 17:00-19:00

How can you make your idea a little wilder? In this session, we push boundaries, explore uniqueness, and discuss how the craziest ideas can sometimes be the best!

Go Explore – April 16

Building a network and finding customers can feel like a big step—but it’s also a huge asset once it’s in place! In this session, we explore networking opportunities and ways to make it easier for future customers to buy your services.

Go Ahead – May 7, 17:00-19:00

How do you actually start a business? What do you need to know, and what pitfalls should you avoid? We wrap up the program by learning how to manage and lead ourselves as entrepreneurs.
